I was awake and alert for the whole thing. From my mid-section down was completely numb.

At 7:53, she was born. I felt a little pressure, but no pain. Howie got some cool pictures of my insides, but I won't post them for the sake of those that are tender-tummied.
Anyway, they took her to the nursery, cleaned her up, and brought her back. She weighed 5 pounds, 15 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long.
Afterwards, my memory begins to fade- probably due to the morphine. I was in the recovery room for two hours later, and all I remember was that the nurse took my vitals and my temp was 94. She tried a different thermometer thinking it was a mistake, but that also read 94. She asked if I was cold, but I wasn't- at least the top half wasn't. I couldn't feel the rest. So, she layered on the warm blankets. I think I had 4 or 5 on. Next thing I know, I'm in a new room- the one I'd stay in the rest of the time there. I was very sleepy that day. (But, I felt no pain.)
So, we had a baby girl with no name. I had brought my list of names that I'd been compiling for 9 months. I ran them passed Howie, and he didn't really like any of them! WHAT the heck!? So, a little miffed, we borrowed the hospital's "35,000+ Baby Names" book and started flipping through the pages. After the third time of going through it, and 2 days later, and after praying for a name we'd both liked, we both saw the name Hadley, and knew that was it! We named her Grace after Howard's Great-Grandmother.
On Saturday, we came home. She's a little jaundice, but not enough to have the bili-blanket. She's a good eater and sleeper so far.
The girls love having her around and want to show her all their toys and hold her.
And, so that's the story of Little Hadley.

Congratulations!! Beautiful!!
