So, I usually write down New Year's Resolutions, and then put them away...for the rest of the year. And then, after the year, I find them again, read them, and feel discouraged that I haven't become any better than the previous year (s). A few years ago, I had a friend who told me she just has a motto for the year, and she usually bases it off of a General Conference Talk. I decided this would work for me- a simple motto to live by the whole year, instead of trying to accomplish 20 resolutions. The first motto I did was "good, better, best". In everything I do, or when a choice is placed in my path, I must decide what is good, what is better, and what is best. Lately, I have discovered that it's sometimes between 'bests and bests.'
Anyway, so this year's motto is "Act, and not be acted upon." It's based on a talk by Elder David A. Bednar. Time to take charge of my life. I've always been an easy going, go-with-the-flow kinda girl. I think that's good for many things- but not everything. I allow too many things to determine what happens to me. Does that make sense? If not, oh well, it's my blog, and it makes sense to me. :)
So, hear's hoping for a life-changing New Year; at least getting a little better...
