Time to Move On

We have been blessed to manage guys' apartments for the last 5 years.  But recently, we have felt that our time may be coming to a close here.   We were having some troubles with the administration at the University, and it seemed that every time I got settled in to read to the kids, make dinner, help with homework, etc..., I would be interrupted by a tenant.  It didn't used to bother me;  I used to welcome the tenants.  But, soon it became very clear to me that the time of moving was coming quickly.  We had just gotten new renters in our house in late July, and they had signed for a year lease, so I called a real estate agent who started looking for houses.  Then, one Thursday in mid-Septemeber, our current tenants of our house stopped by, and informed us that they got a job in town and would be moving out by the next weekend.  AHA!  This was it!  This was our way out!!  I thought we should move out by the end of October.  However, some very convincing people suggested we stay at least until the end of the semester-in December.  I prayed for a confirmation--end of October, or December 15th?  The next morning, a tenant came to my door and said his roommate had fallen down the window-well of the house and had broken his arm.  He wanted to talk insurance stuff with us.  Then, another tenant came by and said his roommate had accidentally sliced his arm open on some stuff in the apartment and was on his way to the hospital, and also wanted to talk insurance stuff with us.  Then, about 11 more tenants came over, one by one, complaining about the internet not working, or they needed light bulbs, or were coming to pay rent.  It was a very busy day--and it was my definite answer.  End of October it was!  So, tomorrow we are moving.  And it will be glorious!  The girls and I have already planted tulips and daffodils in the backyard, and we are looking forward to just being our own little family with few interruptions.  And, did I mention that we'll be able to see more of Howard because it'll be closer to his work?  And, we can now fit the 5th chair around the table, so we can actually eat together as a family.  And we will get 400 extra square feet in the 'new house'. It will be wonderful!

And this is the beginning of our new adventure...
