Maci told me she wanted a strawberry shortcake with blue frosting and strawberries on top. Hmmmm, you don't put frosting on strawberry shortcake. So, we ended up making the angel food cake and putting cool whip (dyed blue) as the 'frosting' and put strawberries on top. She was delighted and it tasted good. :) Mom O. got to make it down for her birthday, and stayed til the end of the month.
Meanwhile, I was in the process of planning Howie's surprise birthday party. Without him knowing, I invited his whole family to come out- and know what?! They did! They travelled from Northern and Southern California, Texas and Kansas just to see him and surprise him. They are simply amazing! And yes, he was surprised. We had a great time being together, since it's not very often we do get together. Thanks again, everyone!
