In one week...

Maci starts school. I was thinking about this the other day. Now, I'm not freaking out, but I got to thinking, Maci will now be influenced by others- she'll probably learn questionable words, and maybe learn bad things from kids at school. She's going 'out into the world'. I was thinking about this, 2 nights ago, and then, read the Ensign for August. The first message- the HT message from Pres. Eyring talks all about letting your children go, and hopefully you've taught them everything they need to know. Now, I know she's only going into kindergarten, she probably won't be faced with major terrible things. But, it just got me thinking- you only have a small window of time to teach them valuable things before they start being influenced by others. Just an ah-ha moment for me. I read a quote a while ago that I love that says, "Ships are safe in the harbor, but that's not what they're built for." It's time to push my little boat off for little half-day trips, and hopefully she'll impact others. She'll be fine. :)

  1. I can't believe that she is old enough for kindergarten. Thanks for sharing the nice quote by President Eyring.
