Well, life continues to go on here. Last weekend's general conference was AWESOME! I especially loved Elder Holland's powerful talk. A friend that was in SLC, said the protesting was pretty severe this year. I'm wondering if that was behind his talk- but man, to have been there? I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
Last weekend, the girls and I went to Boise to visit my sister Melanie. We got there Friday night, did some shopping, then came home yesterday. Had a good time. Got some girl talk in (my sis Danette was there too), and played lots of games. Had a nice time.
It was cold the whole time we were there, and raining. I think it was a high of 45. But, on Saturday night, I HAD to get out of the house. We bundled up the kids and went to a pumpkin farm where they do hay rides, and let us pick our own pumpkins. So that's what we did. Didn't even have to stand in line. :)
Howie said it snowed over here twice! We had good roads all the way back (I can't believe I'm talking about this in October!), but when we got here, there was a little snow by some of the cars in the parking lot. Lexi was so happy to see snow. She stomped in it and asked me to just drive down to St. Anthony really quick to get her snow clothes. Not the thing I want to hear after driving 5 hours!!
So, Howie was working nights while we were gone. We checked in every night. He worked with a kid I went to high school with. Fremont County recently announced they will be putting together a SWAT team, and try-outs (do you call them that?) are Oct. 13. Howie's working out a lot to try to increase his odds. He's stoked about that!
Today, the girls and I cleaned the house. Then, we decorated with all our Halloween stuff. We got a Halloween package from g-parents O. today- the girls were ecstatic!! Got Haloween vests, books, and a cd.
Today, Lexi said something really random to Howie. She said, "Dad, if I ever get smashed by a pumpkin, I'll say, 'I'm okay. The pumpkin didn't squish me.' Maybe it was a dream she had? Funny.
So, there's no school this week. We're out for spud harvest. Nice to sleep in a little.
That's about it for now. I am working on writing the primary program-to be held on Oct. 25. And trying to keep up with managing stuff. Crazy! But, it's life.
Oh- Howie and I got a raise today from our apartment boss. He's awesome!! Maybe we'll stay here a little longer...
Adios!
